Running with Lee Bong-ju... S-Oil's 'Marathon of Emotion' Returns After 7 Years

[Financial News] S-Oil announced on the 28th that it will once again host the 'Marathon of Emotion,' a race where people with and without disabilities run together, to mark its 50th anniversary.
National marathon runner Lee Bong-ju will serve as the event's head. All entry fees will be donated to support rehabilitation for people with disabilities, in a show of encouragement for their challenges and determination to recover.
Applications for the Marathon of Emotion, jointly hosted by S-Oil and the Korea Association for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, will be accepted through the official website until mid-September.
The race will be held on Oct. 4 at Peace Plaza in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. People with and without disabilities will participate together, with three courses available: 5 km, 10 km and a half marathon. Runners will follow the Nanji Circular Trail, passing Peace Lawn Plaza and Haneul Park.
All entry fees will be donated to the Korea Association for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, and donation receipts will be issued. Participants with disabilities can join free of charge. For participants with developmental or visual disabilities, one accompanying runner will also be exempt from the fee.
This year's event adds meaning to the partnership between people with and without disabilities, with national marathon runner Lee Bong-ju serving as head of the event.
Lee said, "This is a special race where people with and without disabilities run together while respecting each other's pace," adding, "Beyond records and rankings, it will be a place to cheer one another on and share the values of challenge and hope."
He added, "Every step taken by runners across the country can become warm encouragement and new courage for someone else," and "I hope many people will run together and create the emotion of the finish line and precious memories that will last a long time."
Meanwhile, S-Oil hosted the event for 14 years from 2006 to 2019, supporting the spirit of challenge and rehabilitation among people with disabilities.
