Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam's first-half net profit jumps 90% year on year to 153 billion dong

【Hanoi, Vietnam = Correspondent Kim Joon-seok】Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam showed a clear improvement in its financial structure, sharply narrowing its accumulated deficit on the back of strong first-half results this year.
According to local media on the 28th, Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam said in its first-half earnings disclosure that it posted pretax profit of 191 billion dong, or about 10 billion won. That was nearly double the roughly 100 billion dong, or about 5.2 billion won, recorded a year earlier. Net profit also surged 90% from a year earlier to 153 billion dong, or about 8 billion won.
Along with the stronger earnings, equity also expanded. As of June 30, 2026, Mirae Asset Finance Vietnam's equity stood at about 1.884 trillion dong, or roughly 99.3 billion won, up 13% from 1.665 trillion dong, or about 87.8 billion won, a year earlier. Paid-in capital remained at around 2 trillion dong, or about 105.4 billion won.
In particular, the accumulated deficit in retained earnings narrowed sharply from 445 billion dong, or about 23.4 billion won, to 226 billion dong, or about 11.9 billion won, as performance improved.
As of June 30, total liabilities came to 1.2109 trillion dong, or about 638.5 billion won, down slightly from 1.2347 trillion dong, or about 651.1 billion won, a year earlier. Bank borrowings accounted for the largest share at about 776.5 billion dong, or about 409.4 billion won, up roughly 3% from a year earlier. The company also continued to maintain 80 billion dong, or about 4.21 billion won, in borrowings raised through local bond issuance in Vietnam.
Other liabilities fell about 12% from more than 400.2 billion dong, or about 211.9 billion won, to around 354.4 billion dong, or about 186.8 billion won. As a result, the debt-to-equity ratio improved from 7.42 times to 6.43 times, strengthening financial soundness. The Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) also rose from 21.28% to 22.87%, meeting local regulatory requirements.
