[Financial News] Comedian Lee Seon-min declared that he would quit smoking and offered a "30 million won reward" to anyone who witnesses him smoking and reports it with evidence.
According to Maeil Business Newspaper and others on the 28th, a live broadcast titled "Comedian Lee Seon-min Special Guest" was uploaded the previous day to the YouTube channel "ChimChakMan Original Museum."
In the video, Lee Seon-min said, "I like milestone moments. Before I turn 40, I want to quit smoking and stay under 90 kilograms."
ChimChakMan, who said he had been smoke-free for four years, responded, "Trying to quit smoking and diet at the same time is like putting yourself in an extreme environment."
He said he had once offered a 10 million won reward to anyone who caught him smoking and reported it with evidence, and that he was able to quit smoking because of it.
He then advised, "For someone with Lee Seon-min's status, you should put up 30 million won. You end up gritting your teeth and sticking to it because you don't want to give that money to someone else."
After thinking it over, Lee Seon-min asked, "When should I start?" ChimChakMan replied, "If you already want to smoke a little, it's over. Your mindset is rotten."
When Lee Seon-min said, "It doesn't have to be today, does it?" ChimChakMan urged him, "That means your mindset is rotten. If you really want to quit, you have to do it quickly."
In the end, Lee Seon-min said, "I will make a smoking pledge," and declared, "If you witness Lee Seon-min smoking anywhere on Earth and report it, I will pay a 30 million won reward."
He also asked people to send any evidence confirming that he smoked directly to ChimChakMan or to his YouTube channel, "Myeonsangdeul."
Meanwhile, Lee Seon-min debuted in 2016 as a comedian in the 16th open recruitment class of Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS). After SBS's "People Looking for a Laugh" was discontinued, he shifted his activities to YouTube. He continues to work with fellow comedian Jo Hoon, his SBS 16th open recruitment class colleague, through the YouTube channel "Myeonsangdeul."
