Soop to Livestream the Seoul 2026 World Boccia Championships Worldwide

[Financial News] Soop will livestream major matches from the Seoul 2026 World Boccia Championships at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul Olympic Park. The company aims to expand its content lineup by broadcasting major domestic and international sports events for athletes with disabilities in real time.
On the 28th, Soop said it will broadcast key individual, team and pair events to viewers around the world from Aug. 30 to Sept. 4.
The World Boccia Championships, organized by World Boccia, is the sport's most prestigious international competition and is held every four years. This year's event will feature 503 athletes from 48 countries. Matches will be divided into individual events by class from BC1 to BC4, team events for BC1 and BC2, and pair events for BC3 and BC4, depending on the type of disability.
Boccia is a Paralympic Games event in which athletes compete to place red and blue balls as close as possible to a white target ball by throwing or rolling them. It requires not only precision in getting the ball near the target, but also strong concentration and strategy, such as pushing an opponent's ball away or planning the position of each throw in advance.
Korean boccia athletes have won gold medals in 10 consecutive Paralympic Games, from the 1988 Summer Paralympics to the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024. At this year's competition, national team athletes including Jeong Ho-won, the gold medalist in the BC3 individual event at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, along with Jeong Seong-jun, Kim Yeon-ha, Seo Min-gyu, Choi Ye-jin, Kang Seon-hui, Kim Jun-yeop, Kim Gyeong-su and Cho Yeokyung, will compete in individual, team and pair events.
Following last year's '2025 Seoul Boccia World Cup,' Soop is once again livestreaming the Seoul 2026 World Boccia Championships globally this year, continuing to showcase sports content for athletes with disabilities. It also plans to broadcast the upcoming 46th National Sports Festival for the Disabled.
