[Financial News] Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) announced on the 28th that it will accept applications for 60 waiting-list households at six redevelopment rental housing complexes over a three-day period from the 9th to the 11th of next month.
The properties in this round include five units at Raemian Haeundae in the Jungdong 3 redevelopment district, six at Haeundae The Sharp Centum Nuri in the Jaesong 1 district, seven at Daeyeon Lotte Castle in the Daeyeon 1 district, 11 at Myeongnyun I-Park Complex 2 in the Myeongnyun 3 district, 28 at Byeoksan Blooming Design City in the Jangjeon 1-2 district, and three at Daesin Park Hanshin Hyu Plus in the Seodaesin 3 district.
Redevelopment rental housing is public housing designed to help low-income households maintain stable living conditions. Under the Act on the Improvement of Urban Areas and Residential Environments, local governments such as Busan Metropolitan City Government purchase rental units built through housing redevelopment projects, and BMC, as the managing agency, leases and oversees them.
If residents continue to meet the eligibility requirements, they may renew their contracts every two years. They can live in the units for up to 30 years from the date of initial move-in.
Applicants must be Busan residents who do not own a home and who meet the income and asset requirements as of the date of the announcement. Final selection of waiting-list tenants will be based on a combined score that takes into account the applicant's age, number of dependents, and the number of payments made to a housing subscription savings account.
Applications can be submitted through the BMC subscription center during the application period. To accommodate elderly applicants and others who may have difficulty applying online, mailed applications will also be accepted during the same period.
Detailed information, including rental terms and supply area by complex, can be found in the notices posted on the corporation's website.
President Shin Chang-ho said, "Redevelopment rental housing is a public rental housing type that residents highly value because it is supplied in existing apartment complexes with excellent access to urban living infrastructure and public transportation." He added, "Through this recruitment, we will work to provide housing quickly when vacancies arise and strengthen housing stability and welfare services for citizens."
