[Breaking] SK Telecom, Kakao, and KT Selected for 'Everyone's AI' Project

[Financial News] The Ministry of Science and ICT said on the 28th that it selected a consortium of SK Telecom, Kakao, and KT as the project operator after conducting document and presentation reviews of six bidders that applied for the 'Everyone's AI' project.
In the document review, the ministry assessed technical suitability, including the competitiveness of AI models and services, as well as plans for GPU utilization and infrastructure operations. In the presentation review, which included prototype video demonstrations, it comprehensively evaluated service convenience, user acquisition strategies, quality and safety measures, and plans to contribute to the AI ecosystem.
The government will provide the three consortia selected this year with a total of 512 of NVIDIA's latest GPUs, the NVIDIA DGX B200. Starting next year, it also plans to cover the costs needed to provide services to the entire public through the government budget.
