Korea Federation of SMEs supports small businesses' entry into Garden Grove, the U.S. 'Little Seoul'

[Financial News] KBIZ has joined hands with the City of Garden Grove in California to help small businesses expand into the United States.
On the 27th local time, KBIZ signed an agreement with the City of Garden Grove to support the overseas expansion of Korean small businesses by revitalizing the Korean business district. This is the first time KBIZ has signed such an agreement with a local U.S. government.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate to help Korean small businesses enter the U.S. market, promote the Korean business district in Garden Grove in South Korea, and build business networks between the two organizations.
Garden Grove is a city in Orange County, California, and a Korean business district stretches for about 3.5 kilometers from Beach Boulevard to Brookhurst Street along Garden Grove Boulevard. The area, known as Little Seoul, is home to small food manufacturers and Korean restaurant franchises, as well as industrial facilities that can accommodate light manufacturing companies.
At the signing ceremony, KBIZ also presented a plaque declaring Garden Grove a city friendly to K-food and K-goods.
Ki-Moon Kim, chairman of KBIZ, proposed that Garden Grove establish a Korea Desk to support small businesses seeking to expand into California and across the United States, and to create a permanent exhibition and sales space for outstanding SME products.
He also asked the city to hold a Korean product fair at the end of the year to introduce a wide range of Korean products to local consumers.
Stephanie Klopfenstein, mayor of the City of Garden Grove, said, "It is a great idea that can bring new vitality to the local economy by leveraging the city's strength as a Korean community."
