Iran is drafting conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz... "If the U.S. accepts them, the central shipping lane will be opened"

[Financial News] Iran said it is drawing up conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which it has been blocking. It said ships could be allowed to pass if the United States accepts Iran's demands. Tehran plans to use the blockade as a bargaining chip and push for an end to the West Asia war, including the conflict in Lebanon.
Mohsen Rezaee, secretary-general of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSC), said in an interview with Lebanon's Al Mayadeen TV on the 27th (local time) that "mediators have been exploring the conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and the Iranian government is now preparing a specific list of conditions."
Rezaee said, "The conditions Iran will present for reopening will include an end to the West Asia war, including Lebanon." He meant that the issue of passage through the Strait of Hormuz would not be limited to a dispute between Iran and the United States, but linked to resolving regional conflicts.
Before fully reopening the strait, Iran has also agreed with Oman to establish a new transit corridor. The corridor will be created across the territorial waters of both Oman and Iran. The two countries appear to be seeking to create a separate route for ships to move through jointly, allowing limited passage through the strait.
Rezaee explained, "If the United States carries out Iran's demands, ships will be able to pass through the designated central shipping lane in the Strait of Hormuz."
As a result, future negotiations are expected to focus on the specific reopening conditions Iran will present and whether the United States will accept them. As Iran links the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to an end to the West Asia war, the issue of passage through the strait could expand into a key agenda item in regional security talks.
Meanwhile, Rezaee dismissed as "an obvious lie" claims that Iran had tried to assassinate the son of U.S. President Donald Trump.
