[Financial News] BJ Kay (36), the boyfriend of YouTuber Juice Seyeon, admitted that he was investigated by police over allegations of proxy prescriptions for sleeping pills.
During a live broadcast on the 27th, BJ Kay said, "An article came out about proxy prescriptions for sleeping pills, and yes, that was me," adding, "I was investigated over that matter."
He went on to say, "I am now receiving prescriptions properly," and added, "I am sorry for causing this problem. I cooperated fully with the investigation, and all that remains is the result."
Earlier that day, EDAILY reported that the Seoul Gangnam Police Station had booked and was investigating an internet broadcaster identified as A without detention. A is accused of having a sleeping pill, classified as a psychotropic drug, prescribed through an acquaintance and then receiving and taking the medication.
At first, A was only described as someone who began internet broadcasting in 2012 and had about 700,000 YouTube subscribers.
Suspicion later emerged that A was BJ Kay, and he acknowledged it during the live broadcast.
Meanwhile, BJ Kay, born in 1989, is active as a streamer on Soop, formerly AfreecaTV. In April, he revealed that he was publicly dating Juice Seyeon, who is 11 years younger than him.
Juice Seyeon, born in 2000, began broadcasting in 2019 and rose to fame after appearing on Netflix's original series "The Influencer." She also drew attention in 2024 after a video showed her crossing a street in Beverly Hills, California, with HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk.
