[New York Stock Exchange] Rebounds in a Day on Big Tech Strength; NVIDIA Surges 8.7%

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) rebounded on the 27th local time, lifted by renewed optimism over artificial intelligence (AI) sparked by NVIDIA Corporation. AP

The NYSE managed to bounce back a day later on the 27th local time. Optimism returned after NVIDIA Corporation eased market concerns about AI with its earnings report after the previous day's close.
Despite its surprise results, NVIDIA Corporation had weakened in after-hours trading the previous day on concerns that rising memory prices would increase costs. In regular trading on the day, however, the stock surged nearly 9%.
Rebound in a day

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 53,569.44, up 105.56 points, or 0.20%, from the previous session.
The technology-heavy Standard & Poor's 500 Index (S&P 500) and Nasdaq posted even larger gains. The S&P 500 rose 55.29 points, or 0.72%, to 7,730.99, while the Nasdaq climbed 411.16 points, or 1.57%, to 26,541.35.
AI optimism

NVIDIA Corporation's surprise earnings and upbeat outlook came into full effect in regular trading the following day. Optimism that AI demand will remain strong through next year helped clear some of the clouds hanging over the company.
NVIDIA Corporation soared 18.32 dollars, or 8.74%, to 227.98 dollars.
Palantir Technologies jumped 8.43 dollars, or 4.75%, to 185.93 dollars, while Microsoft (MS) rose 8.69 dollars, or 1.75%, to 505.06 dollars.
Apple Inc. closed at 314.58 dollars, up 1.13 dollars, or 0.36%.
Elon Musk's Tesla and SpaceX also advanced. Tesla surged 8.99 dollars, or 2.60%, to 354.81 dollars, while SpaceX finished at 140.87 dollars, up 1.24 dollars, or 0.89%.
Alphabet Inc. fell 1.35 dollars, or 0.39%, to 340.65 dollars.
Mixed semiconductor performance

Semiconductor stocks moved in different directions.
Intel surged 3.85 dollars, or 4.36%, to 92.09 dollars, and Broadcom Inc. also climbed 15.95 dollars, or 4.49%, to 371.54 dollars.
By contrast, Micron Technology, Inc. fell 3.01 dollars, or 0.32%, to 935.39 dollars, while SanDisk Corporation dropped 14.42 dollars, or 0.96%, to 1,484.95 dollars.
