[Financial News] Samsung Electronics has unveiled its semi-flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE. The device delivers artificial intelligence performance comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S26, while standing out for its value for money at 1,045,000 won.
According to the industry on the 27th, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is equipped with a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera on the rear. The telephoto lens supports 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom. A 12-megapixel camera is mounted on the front.
For video recording, it supports My FanCam, which automatically tracks a selected subject, and Super Steady, which keeps the frame level to reduce shake. It also offers Nightography for low-light shooting and Photo Assist, which lets users edit photos afterward using natural language.
The operating system is based on Android 17 and Samsung One UI 9.
Key AI features include Now Brief, which displays needed information such as weather, health and traffic at a glance and organizes briefing content through natural language input; Now Nudge, which understands the user's situation and context to suggest the next action; and Circle to Search, which allows users to search for information about products or places shown on the screen.
The display is a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a maximum 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,900 nits. The device weighs 193 grams.
The application processor, often called the "brain" of a smartphone, uses the Exynos 2500 built on a 3-nanometer process. It comes with 8 gigabytes of memory and 256GB of storage.
The battery has a capacity of 4,900mAh. It can charge up to 69% in 30 minutes.
It supports 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, and carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Samsung Electronics will provide up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.
The product will be released in three colors: Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio. In Korea, the 256GB model is priced at 1,045,000 won.
Samsung Electronics will also operate the New Galaxy AI Subscription Club from the launch date for buyers of domestic unlocked models. Subscribers will receive benefits such as Samsung Care+ and discounts on accessories.
Kim Jung-hyun, vice president of Samsung Electronics' Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, said, "The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is designed so that more customers can experience the innovative features of the Galaxy S series and use them in everyday life." He added, "By offering the refined camera and Galaxy AI experience that have been most loved in the S series, it will be the best choice for consumers seeking a premium mobile experience."
