Kee-young Choi, Professor of Aerospace Engineering, Named 17th President of Inha University

The Jeongseok Inha Education Foundation held a board meeting on the 27th and announced that it had appointed Professor Choi as the 17th president of Inha University. His term will last four years, from the first day of next month through August 31, 2030.
In line with its bylaws, the foundation formed a presidential candidate recommendation committee last month and invited applications for the post. The committee recommended multiple candidates to the board, which reviewed their visions and management capabilities before selecting Professor Choi as president.
The board said, "After carefully reviewing the visions and management capabilities of the candidates recommended by the presidential candidate recommendation committee, we determined that candidate Kee-young Choi is the best person to lead Inha University’s leap forward amid a declining school-age population and a rapidly changing higher education environment."
The new president graduated from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University, earned a master's degree from the same university, and later received a doctorate from Stanford University in the United States. He has since worked to advance higher education and build an industry-academia cooperation ecosystem, serving as head of Inha University's internationalization project team and as vice president for academic affairs.
Ahead of his inauguration, Choi outlined student-centered educational innovation, stronger research capabilities, and expanded global networks as key priorities. He also plans to enhance the university's competitiveness by building a multi-campus system and strengthening cooperation with local communities and industry.
The new president said, "I feel a profound sense of responsibility to have been selected as the 17th president of Inha University, which boasts a long history and tradition." He added, "Through student-centered educational innovation, stronger research capabilities, expanded global networks, a multi-campus system, and a solid cooperation framework with local communities and industry, I will develop Inha University into a world-class private university."
