President Lee Says Removal of Illegal Facilities at Daegu's Palgongsan Was "A Truly Great Achievement"

[Financial News] President Lee Jae-myung praised employees of the Korea National Park Service on the 27th, saying they had "accomplished a truly great task" after removing facilities in Daegu's Palgongsan that had been used illegally as a prayer site for nearly 70 years.
That day, Lee shared a report on X about the removal of illegal structures and the recovery of the ecosystem in Dohak-dong Valley at Palgongsan National Park. He said, "I sincerely appreciate all the hard work by the staff of the Korea National Park Service."
Lee added, "It took decades to do what should have been done from the start, but because it was such a difficult task, you truly accomplished something great."
The Dohak-dong Valley in Palgongsan National Park had 92 illegal structures that had been used as a prayer site for about 70 years. The Korea National Park Service removed them and restored the valley to its original state. Three months later, 17 wildlife species were observed, including the endangered marten and Northern Goshawk.
Lee also called for the Palgongsan case to be expanded to other regions. He stressed, "Please pass on my thanks and encouragement so that public officials can continue to manage other national parks and valleys across the country thoroughly until the end."
