Doosan Provides $5 Million in Emergency Aid to Flood-Hit Nepal

[Financial News] Doosan Group has decided to provide $5 million, or about 6.9 billion won, in emergency aid to Nepal, which has suffered severe damage from massive flooding. The support is intended to help speed up local search and rescue operations.
Doosan Group said on the 27th that the emergency funds will be used for overall recovery efforts in Rasuwa District, Nepal, where torrential rains caused extensive damage, including searching for victims, rescue operations, and procuring emergency relief supplies. A Doosan official said, "We hope this will provide practical help for the swift recovery of the affected areas and support for displaced residents in the wake of this sudden large-scale disaster."
Along with the aid, Doosan Enerbility immediately began working to ensure the safety of its local personnel. Some employees who had been assigned to a hydropower plant construction project in Nepal have been unreachable since the heavy rains, with communications cut off from the outside.
Accordingly, Doosan Enerbility immediately activated an emergency response headquarters to assess the situation and respond quickly. A field response team from headquarters, including CEO Jeong Yeonin, was dispatched to Nepal on the same day to establish coordination with local authorities and rescue teams, and to lead efforts to search for missing employees and secure their safety.
