Governor of the Bank of Korea Hyun Song Shin to Attend Jackson Hole, G20 and BIS Meetings to Discuss Global Economic Issues

[Financial News] Bank of Korea Governor Hyun Song Shin will successively attend major international meetings, including the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium. He is expected to discuss key global financial and economic issues and exchange views with officials from major central banks and international financial institutions.
The Bank of Korea said Shin will leave for the United States on the 27th and is scheduled to return on Sept. 9.
Shin will attend the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, which opens on the 28th in Jackson Hole, the United States. This year's theme is "Financial Innovation: Implications for Payments and Policy." He plans to discuss with central bank governors from major economies and academics how financial innovation affects payments and policy.
He will then attend the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting (G20 FMCBG Meeting), which begins on the 31st in Asheville, the United States. He plans to discuss major global economic issues with finance ministers, central bank governors and officials from international financial institutions.
From Sept. 5, he will attend the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Governors' Meeting in Basel, Switzerland. He will take part in the Global Economy Meeting and the All Governors' Meeting to review the latest conditions in the global economy and financial markets and exchange views with member central bank governors.
As a BIS board member, Shin is also expected to attend the BIS Board and the Council of Economic Advisers.
