KT says it will bring AI into everyday life nationwide, from education and finance to shopping and housing

[Financial News] KT has unveiled an AI model for everyone that aims to spread a wide range of artificial intelligence technologies and services into people’s daily lives. Its goal is to build a people-centered AI ecosystem by applying AI across everyday activities, from search to specialized services.
On the 27th, KT said it plans to launch the general-purpose Everyone's AI service as an app and a web platform. Centered on a general AI agent that understands users’ questions and goals, the service will connect Public AI Agent functions with specialized AI services in areas such as education, finance, shopping and housing.
The company laid out its strategy ahead of the government’s evaluation of Everyone's AI operators, which is expected as early as next month.
KT’s business strategy for Everyone's AI centers on using a general AI agent to deliver AI services that go beyond channel boundaries.
KT plans to build the Everyone's AI app into a key platform for nationwide AI use. It will also apply Everyone's AI features to Daum, various service touchpoints of consortium members, and KT's Genie TV. That way, users can enjoy the same AI experience within the services they already use, without having to install a new app.
The KT consortium includes Daum, MUSINSA, Zigbang, EBS, QANDA, BC Card, Connectwave, DeepSearch and Saltlux.
Everyone's AI offers a personalized memory function that remembers users’ interests, schedules and ongoing tasks based on their consent. With this, KT has evolved the service beyond a simple search-and-answer AI into an AI agent service that connects specialized services by field and helps users complete real-world tasks. By adding Daum’s search capabilities, the platform will provide a single AI experience spanning the search for the latest information, search, recommendations, personalization and links to specialized services.
KT will also make broad use of multiple domestic AI models, including a homegrown foundation model, along with Rebellions’ domestic Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and optimization technologies for xPU operations from Lablup and VESSL AI.
The KT consortium plans to ensure that competitive domestic AI models, agents and specialized services can continue to join Everyone's AI. It also intends to expand GPU resource support, investment and business cooperation for domestic AI companies.
KT executive Lee Jin-hyung said, "Everyone's AI begins with creating a single, complete AI that anyone can use, but we will not confine that experience within one service." He added, "We will expand AI across the many services people use and connect them to the AI and specialized services they need, wherever and whenever they begin."
