[Financial News] As economic growth slows and uncertainty over interest rates and exchange rates continues, the global asset market is shifting away from growth stocks such as AI and semiconductors and diversifying into safe-haven assets such as gold and silver.
According to the Busan Digital Asset Exchange, Bdan, on the 27th, international gold prices continued to rise after hitting this year's low of about $3,992 per ounce on July 16. On the 24th, one month later, they reached an intraday high of about $4,712.8, up about 18%.
Gold prices are also rising in the domestic market. Bdan's physical gold product, e-gold, climbed about 8.3% in a month, from 191,900 won per gram on the 26th of last month to 207,900 won on the 26th of this month.
Silver and copper are also posting sharp gains. According to Investing.com, September silver futures stood at $68.73 per ounce as of the 24th, up about 16.7% from $58.8 on the 24th of last month. Spot copper prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) also hit an all-time intraday high of about $14,912 per ton on the 17th of this month, rising about 19.2% so far this year. Growing infrastructure demand from the expansion of AI data centers, along with uncertainty over geopolitics and trade policy, is cited as a major driver of the price gains.
Against this backdrop, demand is growing for digital platforms that allow investors to trade major commodities such as gold, silver, and copper in one place instead of traditional stock trading.
Bdan is a digital asset trading platform based on Real-World Asset (RWA) technology, which enables physical assets to be digitized and traded as digital products. Users can trade a wide range of commodities, including gold, silver, copper, platinum, palladium, nickel, tin, and coffee, through a mobile app. Gold can be traded in units as small as 0.01 grams, and silver in 1-gram increments, allowing small-scale investment. All products can also be exchanged for physical assets. In addition, trading is available for 23 hours a day, allowing users to respond quickly to global market moves.
Another advantage is that it minimizes the tax and fee burden associated with financial products such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs), while offering relatively lower trading costs. As of 9 a.m. on the 26th, Bdan's e-gold was trading at 206,700 won, about 0.7% lower than the 208,180 won price on the Korea Exchange's physical gold market.
A Bdan official said, "Not only gold, but also silver and copper are moving at the same time, and demand is growing for an easy way to trade a variety of physical assets." The official added, "Bdan is expanding trading options by offering a range of physical assets, including gold, silver, and copper, as digital products."
