Early-Morning Fire Breaks Out at Ulsan Apartment; 7, Including Police Officer, Hospitalized for Smoke Inhalation

[Financial News Ulsan = reporter Choi Soo-sang] A fire broke out at an apartment in Ulsan in the early hours of the morning, prompting residents to evacuate.
According to Ulsan Fire Headquarters, the blaze started at around 4:55 a.m. on the fifth floor of a 15-story apartment building in Mugeo-dong, Nam District, Ulsan Metropolitan City, on the 27th.
Six residents and one police officer were taken to a hospital for treatment after inhaling smoke.
About 80 residents also rushed out of the building after hearing that a fire had broken out.
Nam District, the local government with jurisdiction over the area, also sent out a safety alert telling residents to evacuate the building.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze at around 5:43 a.m.
Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage.
