Hanwha's Seoul International Fireworks Festival to Light Up the Seoul Night on Sept. 5 with 5,000 Safety Personnel Deployed

[Financial News] Hanwha Corporation will hold the country's signature autumn festival, the "Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2026," on Sept. 5 around Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul. This year's event has been moved up from its usual schedule to take into account the Chuseok holiday period and demand from foreign visitors to Korea. Teams from South Korea, the U.S. and the U.K. will participate, presenting a more three-dimensional fireworks show centered on Wonhyo Bridge. According to Hanwha on the 27th, the festival will run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. under the theme "Your Infinite Colors," with the main fireworks show starting exactly at 8 p.m.
The fireworks show will open with a performance by the U.K. team, Pyrotex Fireworx. Under the theme "Colours Reimagined," the team will present a 15-minute custom fireworks display. At 8:20 p.m., the U.S. team, Ace Pyro, will follow with "Instrumental Illumination," a show set to grand classical music. The finale will be presented by the South Korean team, Hanwha Corporation, from 8:40 p.m. for 30 minutes. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh's "The Starry Night," Hanwha will stage a storytelling fireworks show themed "The Puzzle of Light," synchronized to signature songs by singer Lee So-ra.
The key features of this year's production are a "tower fireworks" display that makes full use of Wonhyo Bridge and a new "bridge performance" pattern. Hanwha has upgraded its signature symmetrical "decalcomania" technique across both sides of the Han River sky to improve visibility for distant spectators, while adding letter-shaped fireworks spelling SEOUL, HANWHA and NETFLIX to maximize visual variety. During the day, promotional booths and hands-on programs for Hanwha's financial affiliates will be operated, along with culture and tourism programs for foreign visitors in partnership with Centre Pompidou Hanwha.
Because the event is expected to draw massive crowds, the largest safety operation in the festival's history will be deployed. A Hanwha official said, "We will assign about 5,000 safety and crowd-control personnel, including 1,200 employee volunteers, and operate a joint command center with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, police and fire authorities." The official added, "In particular, we plan to monitor on-site anomalies in real time by using a telecom-linked crowd-density measurement system called Orange Safety and KT's CCTV control system based on 5G network slicing, which helps prevent traffic bottlenecks."
After the event, Hanwha volunteers will carry out a "clean campaign" to tidy up the Yeouido Hangang Park area, and all collected waste will be processed in an eco-friendly manner through K-eco's Allbaro system. For citizens who cannot attend in person, the event will also be streamed live on the official YouTube channel HanwhaTV, while music streaming service will be available through the dedicated app orangeplay.
