110 Entries Received for 2026 Busan Film Commission Story IP Contest... 28 Advance to Finals

[Financial News] The '2026 BFC Story IP Contest' hosted by the Busan Film Commission (BFC) has concluded its preliminary screening amidst great interest and has entered the final round.

Provided by the Busan Film Commission According to the Busan Film Commission on the 27th, the Commission recently advanced a total of 28 entries to the final round of judging after conducting preliminary screenings from last month to the 12th of this month out of the 110 entries submitted to the contest. The 28 IPs that advanced to the final round through this preliminary screening are classified into 26 new IPs and 2 original works.

Original works are pieces uploaded in forms such as stories reworked to enable visual adaptation, for which copyrights were purchased from the original authors. By category, 13 feature films, 6 novels, and 5 dramas/series were selected, along with one each in web dramas, plays, musicals, webtoons, animations, and multiple categories.
Looking at the locations of the contest participants, IPs from creators in Busan account for 22 entries, Gyeongnam 5, and Ulsan 1. The final judging of the contest will begin at the end of this month, followed by a selection review meeting in September, after which approximately 10 final winners will be announced at the end of that month.
In addition, it has been reported that the winning entries are also scheduled to be exhibited at the Story Market, which will be held during the Busan International Film Festival this coming October.
