[Financial News] Kang Tae-young, CEO of Nonghyup Bank, has joined the "Life-Saving Finance Relay Campaign," which was launched to protect victims of illegal private lending.
According to the financial sector on the 27th, the "Life-Saving Finance Relay Campaign" was launched by the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency to promote the social value of "life-saving finance," which helps protect people's livelihoods and support their recovery.
The relay began with Kim Eun-kyung, head of the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, followed by Cho Yong-byoung, chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks (KFB), and Jin-owan Jung, CEO of Woori Bank. After being nominated by Jung, Kang named Woo-Hyung Choi, CEO of K Bank, as the next participant.
Since July, Nonghyup Bank has been operating a special support program for socially vulnerable groups, which is expected to reduce debt burdens by about 200.6 billion won. It is also running a loan principal repayment program to ease the financial burden on farmers and self-employed business owners, while continuing to practice customer-centered inclusive finance.
Kang Tae-young said, "I deeply sympathize with the many people who are struggling with excessive debt caused by illegal private lending," adding, "As a bank for the nation, Nonghyup Bank will continue to support financially vulnerable groups with a strong sense of responsibility and remain a reliable financial partner for the public, taking the lead in realizing the social value of finance."
