[Financial News] Starbucks Coffee Korea is kicking off its fall promotion and rolling out its signature seasonal drink along with a new tea beverage lineup.
According to the industry on the 27th, Starbucks Coffee Korea will unveil its signature fall drink, the Black Glazed Latte, and a new menu item, the Hojicha Glazed Tea Latte, on the 28th.
The Black Glazed Latte has been a Starbucks staple since its debut in 2019 and is released every fall. Known affectionately among consumers as the "Blgla," it had sold a cumulative 26 million cups through last year.
This fall, the company is introducing the Hojicha Glazed Tea Latte, a hojicha version of the Black Glazed Latte. Its defining feature is a glazed foam topping over a tea latte made with domestically produced hojicha.
Starbucks is also expanding its tea beverage category with items such as the "Yuzu V Fizzio" and "Yuzu Matcha V Fizzio," which combine yuzu and matcha flavors and contain hesperidin, as well as "Pure Matcha" and "Pure Hojicha," made with 100% Jeju-grown green tea leaves or domestically produced hojicha. New food items, including the "Fig Jambon Arugula Sandwich" and "Earl Grey Caramel Nuts Cake," will also be sold.
To mark the fall season, Starbucks will run a promotion from the 28th through the 3rd of next month, offering Starbucks Green or Gold members up to three extra Stars when they purchase one of six promotional beverages.
Choi Hyeon-jeong, head of Starbucks food and beverage development, said, "This season, we prepared the Black Glazed Latte, which signals Starbucks' fall, and the Hojicha Glazed Tea Latte, which uses hojicha, a key driver of the recent tea craze." She added, "As many customers have shown love for the Blgla every fall, we hope there will be great anticipation and interest in the new menu items as well."
