[Financial News] KB Financial Group is expanding its support after providing customized industrial safety solutions to 446 small and medium-sized enterprises.
On the 27th, KB Financial Group announced that it had completed the first phase of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Industrial Safety Infrastructure Support Project with Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), and will recruit additional companies for the second phase.
The project was launched to help prevent industrial accidents at small and medium-sized enterprises and create safer working environments. KB Financial Group will fully fund the project, with a total budget of 7 billion won.
The first phase, which ran for about three months from April, involved 446 companies in total, including 50 suppliers and 396 demand-side companies. KB Financial Group and KOSME connected suppliers with strong industrial safety technologies and products to small and medium-sized enterprises that needed safety improvements, providing tailored industrial safety solutions suited to each company's industry and work environment, including on-site improvements, safety equipment supplies, and safety training and consulting.
The project is being run as a performance-based social contribution program that links real on-site results to follow-up support, rather than ending with one-time assistance. After the first phase ends, safety activities and on-site improvement results for each supplier will be evaluated, and outstanding companies will continue to receive support in the second phase. Companies with insufficient results will be excluded from follow-up support. KB Financial Group explained that this approach is intended to keep improving the project's effectiveness so that social contribution funds can lead to tangible industrial accident prevention results.
An additional 17 suppliers for the second phase are also being recruited. Newly selected companies will be given opportunities to apply their technologies and products at small and medium-sized enterprise workplaces, while companies that need safety infrastructure will be connected with suitable on-site solutions. Recruitment for companies to join the second phase runs from the 25th through the 4th of next month.
Meanwhile, KB Financial Group continues to provide a wide range of financial and non-financial support to help small and medium-sized enterprises grow sustainably and strengthen their future competitiveness, including improvements to industrial safety environments, artificial intelligence (AI) transformation, green transition, easing financial burdens, and export support.
