SEOUL, Financial News — KB Kookmin Bank is launching productive finance by contributing a total of 10 billion won to the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT) and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC). On the 27th, the bank said it had signed a financial support agreement with KODIT and KOTEC to strengthen the competitiveness of companies in industrial parks and promote balanced growth in regional manufacturing. The agreement follows a memorandum signed in June last year with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation to expand ESG management and support exports among industrial park tenants.
Under the agreement, KB Kookmin Bank will contribute 10 billion won in total, with 2.5 billion won each to KODIT and KOTEC as special contributions and guarantee fee support funds. Based on this, it plans to provide about 350 billion won in guarantee-backed loans.
Companies eligible for the special contribution guarantee program can receive a 100% guarantee ratio for three years and a 0.3 percentage point reduction in guarantee fees. In addition, companies eligible for the guarantee fee support program can receive a total of 2.0 percentage points in fee support from the bank, at 1.0 percentage point per year for two years, helping reduce financing costs.
Priority will be given to companies located in industrial parks, while firms selected for productive finance support by KODIT and KOTEC will also be included. KB Kookmin Bank said it aims to support the growth of regional manufacturers and contribute to revitalizing local economies.
A KB Kookmin Bank official said, "We hope this agreement will help ease the financial burden on companies in industrial parks and support stable funding."
Meanwhile, since April this year, KB Kookmin Bank has been operating an SME Field Support Team to expand productive finance. Working with corporate finance staff at branches, the team provides financial consulting to companies and helps strengthen frontline competitiveness in areas such as company analysis, marketing know-how, and corporate loan screening support.
