[Financial News] Mercedes-Benz will donate 500 million won to help create a youth-only space in Busan.
Busan Metropolitan City Government said on the 27th that it will hold a donation ceremony in the International Reception Room at City Hall in the afternoon for the creation of a youth-only space called "Youth Play & ESG" by the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.
The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Social Responsibility Committee will donate 500 million won in project funds for the youth-only space on the day.
The donated funds will be used to build a multi-purpose complex space exclusively for young people, supporting their healthy activities and growth, through the Future for Youth Foundation, a social welfare foundation.
The money was raised from participation fees for the 13th Give & Race Marathon, co-hosted by the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, the Future for Youth Foundation, and Busan Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation.
Since 2020, the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Social Responsibility Committee has been donating funds raised from the Give & Race event’s participation fees to the city every year.
The youth-only space, which will be built at Song Sang-hyeon Square by the end of this year, will include areas for play, rest, and hands-on activities for young people, along with educational and experiential content themed around ESG.
Mayor Chun Jae-soo said, "The Mercedes-Benz Corporate Social Responsibility Committee's steady philanthropic efforts are greatly helping to spread a culture of giving in Busan," adding, "This year, we expect the creation of a space where young people can stay freely and interact with one another to greatly support their healthy activities and growth."
