[Financial News] Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 27th that Chairman Jung Won-joo met with Vietnam's Minister of Industry and Trade, who was visiting South Korea on the 26th, and expressed the company's strong willingness to take part in energy projects, including nuclear power plants and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals.
Minister Le Manh Hung and other officials from Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade visited South Korea for a three-day, two-night trip from the 26th to the 28th to attend the Korea-Vietnam Joint Industrial Committee and hold meetings with relevant ministries.
At the meeting, Chairman Jung said, "Daewoo Engineering & Construction has carried out a wide range of projects in Vietnam for more than 30 years and has grown alongside the local economy." He added, "Based on our experience and capabilities, we want to do more than simply participate as a foreign company. Through localization, we aim to make a meaningful contribution to expanding Vietnam's nuclear power and energy infrastructure."
He also emphasized, "If we take part in Vietnam's nuclear power project, we will go beyond carrying out construction work. We will share Daewoo Engineering & Construction's nuclear construction technology and experience, and actively support local companies in improving their technical and quality capabilities as well as their competitiveness."
