On the 27th, Banksalad said the number of customers using its AI-based interest rate reduction request right in July rose by more than 125% compared with March.
Banksalad's AI interest rate reduction request service uses an AI agent to lower customers' interest costs as much as possible on their behalf. When a customer's credit rating or credit score improves due to higher income or loan repayment, the agent detects it and requests a rate cut from the lender for the customer.
A Banksalad official said, "The interest rate reduction request right is a system that customers often struggle to manage on their own even when they meet the conditions, but Banksalad's AI agent handles it for them, and more cases are now leading to actual interest savings."
The AI agent-based proxy service for interest rate reduction requests is part of the Financial Services Commission's financial inclusion policy aimed at easing the interest burden on financial consumers.
Banksalad is pursuing a differentiated strategy by applying a "credit score boost" feature before filing an interest rate reduction request. The idea is to raise a customer's credit score once, then submit the request, increasing the chances of securing a lower rate. Customers who succeeded in getting a rate cut through Banksalad's AI agent did so after an average of just 1.7 attempts.
Among customers who used the interest rate reduction request right to cut their interest costs, one case involved saving 9.3 million won a year.
Banksalad is strengthening its automated loan management services so customers can keep reducing interest costs over time. It recently also launched an interest subsidy service that can return up to 100% of monthly interest.
Banksalad said it plans to continue enhancing its loan management services to help customers reduce their actual interest costs and contribute to financial inclusion.
