International oil prices extended their decline on the 26th local time, falling for a third consecutive day since the 24th.
A spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Iran and Oman had agreed to collect transit fees in the Strait of Hormuz and share the revenue, raising hopes that shipping through the strait could resume.
Brent Crude Oil for October delivery, the global benchmark, closed down $0.74, or 0.84%, at $87.84 per barrel.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil (WTI) for October delivery, the U.S. benchmark, ended the session down $0.13, or 0.16%, at $82.23 per barrel.
