Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani will visit Tehran, Iran, on the 27th local time.
According to Al Jazeera, Majed Al Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a statement posted on social media platform X on the 26th that the prime minister will visit Tehran to meet with Iranian officials, ease regional tensions, and create conditions for constructive dialogue.
Al Ansari said, "Prime Minister Al Thani will arrive in Tehran tomorrow to discuss ways to de-escalate tensions with senior Iranian officials," adding, "This visit follows the Qatari government's firm position that diplomatic channels are the best way to resolve differences and promote regional security and stability."
He added, "Along with the issue of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, we will also place significant emphasis on the need to return the situation in the strait to what it was before the war on February 28."
