Second Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Hong Ji-seon Says Gangneung ITS World Congress Is a Chance for Global Expansion

According to MOLIT on the 26th, Hong attended the opening ceremony at Gangneung Convention Center and received a briefing from the secretariat of the ITS World Congress Organizing Committee on the event preparations.
She then toured major venues, including Gangneung Olympic Park and Seongyojang House, to review the operating plan for the congress period.
Hong said, "The upcoming Gangneung ITS World Congress is an important opportunity to showcase future transportation innovation, including AI and autonomous driving, to the world, and to expand the global reach of our ITS technologies and companies." She added, "As government officials, industry leaders, and experts from around the world will visit Gangneung, related agencies should work closely together to ensure there are no gaps in event preparations."
This year's ITS World Congress will run for five days from Oct. 19 to 23. MOLIT estimated that about 60,000 people from around 90 countries will attend.
