Gangwon State Builds Industrial Network to Attract Future Mobility Companies

【Financial News Chuncheon = Reporter Kim Gi-seop】Gangwon State is expanding its foundation for attracting companies by using technology exchanges with future mobility firms as a springboard.
According to Gangwon Technopark on the 26th, Gangwon State Government, Gangwon Technopark, the Korea Electric Vehicle Rebuilding Association, and the K-Mobility Cluster Association jointly held the 2026 Future Mobility Technology Exchange Seminar at the COEX area in Seoul from the 25th to the 26th, seeking to expand their cooperation network with future mobility companies and specialized institutions. The seminar was designed to share industrial, technological, and policy trends in the future mobility sector and to introduce Gangwon State's research and demonstration infrastructure to companies. Representatives from related companies, research, testing, and support organizations took part.
The event featured presentations on Gangwon State's future mobility industry policies, investment support system, and the Hoengseong Future Mobility Research and Demonstration Complex. This was followed by expert presentations from the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH), K-eco, and Renault Korea, as well as a case study presentation by local company Solivis. Participants also toured EV Trend Korea 2026 to review the latest technologies and market trends in the future mobility sector.
Gangwon State and Gangwon Technopark plan to turn the network built at the seminar into company attraction efforts. They will invite participating company and institution officials to the completion ceremony for the Hoengseong Future Mobility Research and Demonstration Complex, scheduled for November, to showcase the research, testing, and demonstration infrastructure in person and identify each company's needs for technology development and demonstration. Based on this, they aim to continue testing and demonstration support and investment consultations to encourage companies to invest in and relocate to Gangwon.
Choi Seok-jin, head of the Strategic Industries Division, said, "We were able to confirm companies' needs for research and demonstration through this exchange," adding, "We will use the November completion ceremony as an opportunity to help companies see and use the infrastructure firsthand and turn that into concrete attraction results."
Yoon Wan-tae, head of the Future Business Division at Gangwon Technopark, also said, "We expanded our cooperation network by promoting Gangwon State's industrial base and support policies," and added, "We will identify companies' needs for technology development and investment and connect them to attraction efforts in Gangwon."
