[Financial News, Chuncheon = Reporter Kim Gi-seop] Gangwon Governor Woo Sang-ho presented the province's strategy for fostering advanced industries at the president-chaired Central-Local Cooperation Meeting as a successful model for growth led by local governments.
According to the Gangwon State Government on the 26th, Governor Woo attended the 10th Central-Local Cooperation Meeting, which was held at Cheong Wa Dae at 2 p.m. that day. It was the first time since the launch of the ninth popularly elected administration that the president and the governors of 16 local governments gathered in one place.
At the meeting, Woo unveiled the Clean Gangwon Advanced Industry Transformation Project as a winning strategy for growth led by local governments. He introduced the plan, which centers on AI data centers, clean energy, defense drones, and aerospace, and asked for links to related national projects and government support.
After the meeting, he met with key Cheong Wa Dae officials and requested support for the swift implementation of Gangwon's key pending projects. His requests included approval of the preliminary feasibility study for the Pocheon-Cheorwon Expressway, designation of a defense drone and aerospace defense industry innovation cluster, and an exemption from the preliminary feasibility study for Gangwon's AI transformation project in medical care and wellness.
Woo said he will continue to work closely with Cheong Wa Dae and the government to resolve Gangwon's key issues and deliver tangible results that residents can feel.
