Street Market Chestnut Seller Caught on Video Skimming Off the Top

[Financial News]  A scene has surfaced showing a vendor selling chestnuts at a traditional market pretending to give a customer extra nuts, then removing six chestnuts during the packing process. The vendor had said he would give three chestnuts as a bonus, but it was later found that he had actually left out even more than that from the bag.
On the 25th, JTBC's Scandal Supervisor aired the story of a tipster, identified as A, who said they were cheated in a so-called "skimming" scam while buying chestnuts at a traditional market.
In the video filmed by A, the vendor filled a basket with chestnuts. He then added three more, saying, "I'm in a good mood, so I'll give you three for free as a bonus."
The vendor then tilted the basket toward a plastic bag. At first glance, it looked as if he was pouring all the chestnuts in, but three were left behind in the basket, and some of the chestnuts appear to have been held between his fingers and not put into the bag.
After reviewing the footage, the production team found that the vendor had removed a total of six chestnuts in this way. In other words, after promising three as a bonus, he actually left out even more than that.
Panelists on the program said, "This is a skimming trick that would make even the characters from Tazza: The High Rollers, including Agui, cry," adding, "How much could a few chestnuts possibly cost? Why take them out after putting them in? He should have just not offered any bonus at all."
