"Bomb Threat Email to Jeonju District Court" Sparks Alarm at Court and Police

[Financial News, Jeonju = Kang In] A threatening email claiming that Jeonju District Court in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, would be bombed caused confusion as military and police forces launched a search.
According to police and others on the 26th, Jeonju District Court reported to police that it had received an email saying explosives had been planted in the courthouse.
The court found in a document sent to its official email account a message saying, "A bomb will go off today between 1:34 p.m. and 7:30 p.m." It immediately restricted access to the building and notified police.
The sender threatened, "I was dismissed from a contract, and I cannot accept it. I have planted homemade bombs in and around the court."
It was also confirmed that the same email had been sent not only to Jeonju District Court but also to courts in other regions.
After the report, the Special Operations Unit (SOU) and the military Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team searched inside and outside the courthouse, but found nothing suspicious.
After the search, Jeonju District Court lifted the restriction on access to the outside of the building.
A court official said, "No explosives were found, so hearings are expected to resume later in the afternoon," adding, "Trials delayed by the bomb search are likely to be rescheduled by each division."
A police official explained, "The search is over, but the SOU will remain on duty at the court until 7:30 p.m., the time listed as the expected explosion time," and added, "We are tracing the sender of the email."
