To Help Younger Students Build Their Youthful Dreams, Koltech Chairman Park Young-ho Donates 1.3 Billion Won to Yonsei University’s Popular Music Program

[Financial News] Chairman Park Young-ho of instrument maker Koltech has donated 1.3 billion won to help his alma mater’s younger students strengthen their popular music skills and foster campus culture.
According to Yonsei University on the 26th, Chairman Park, a 1966 graduate of the Department of Philosophy, gave an additional 200 million won the previous day, the 25th, to support the growth of the 'Yonsei-in Talent Project,' a program that helps current students with popular music activities. With this donation, cumulative support for the project, which began in 2021, has reached 1.3 billion won. Including the 300 million won he donated in 2020 for the 'Cheongsongdae Blue Forest Restoration Fund,' Park’s total contributions to his alma mater have risen to 1.6 billion won.
The donations will be used through Yonsei University’s Future Education Center to focus on building students’ practical musical abilities. Top popular musicians, including Ham Chun Ho, one of Korea’s leading guitarists, are offering one-on-one customized lessons to students. The university also supports both professional arts education and performance opportunities by holding the annual 'Cheongsong Music Concert' in Cheongsongdae, the campus forest, where students can showcase the skills they have honed.
Chairman Park Young-ho said, "During my school days, Cheongsongdae was more than just a place on campus. It was a special place where I spent my youth sharing music with my classmates and talking about the future." He added, "I have continued to support the university because I want younger students to build precious memories that can only be made during college and fully express their talents." He went on to say, "A university is a place not only to gain knowledge, but also to create dreams and memories that last a lifetime," and noted, "I hope younger students will grow through culture and music, and later remember their youth as the most beautiful time of their lives."
Yonsei University said Park’s continued support is helping expand opportunities for students exhausted by job preparation and other pressures to enjoy the arts, while also serving as a strong foundation for enriching the culture of the campus community.
