A One-Stop View of Everything from Course Registration to Job Listings

[Financial News] Sookmyung Women's University is fully launching an integrated system that uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze every stage of student growth and academic data, from admission to graduation, and provide personalized career and employment roadmaps.
The university said on the 26th that it had officially launched SNOWISE, an integrated student growth system that combines generative AI with previously scattered academic, extracurricular and career management functions.
SNOWISE applies generative AI and a vector similarity-based recommendation algorithm to suggest the best career path based on each student's course history and interests. Students can automatically receive recommendations for the courses, majors and certifications they need, as well as tailored information on promising small and mid-sized companies and job postings linked to Employment 24. The system also supports practical job preparation with an 'e-portfolio coaching' feature using an AI coach and a 'self-introduction editing and generation' function that analyzes students' on- and off-campus experience data to help them write applications.
With the new system, data that had been scattered across multiple sites has now been brought together in one place. In addition to basic academic information such as enrollment status and grades, it also connects records of campus activities, including clubs, student councils and academic societies, core competency assessment results, counseling history and field training experience, allowing the university to manage each student's competency data in an integrated way. Through the university innovation support project, Sookmyung Women's University decided to merge its existing integrated extracurricular management system, Wise, and student career development system, SNOWAY. It formed a task force with nine related departments in September last year and spent about seven months on development.
Son Seo-Hee, head of the university's career development office, said, "SNOWISE will become a digital growth compass that systematically connects the experiences and capabilities students have accumulated during college and helps them design their own future using AI."
Meanwhile, to mark the launch of the system, Sookmyung Women's University released an introduction video and short-form content featuring its official character and an AI character. It also plans to provide online and offline user training for students and faculty after the semester begins in September.
