'Arrested Police Officer in Missing-Persons Cover-Up Found with a Cluster of Fingerprints in Women’s Restroom He Entered'

[Financial News]  Police are investigating after multiple unidentified fingerprints and palm prints were found at the scene of a women’s restroom intrusion by an on-duty Jeju police officer who was arrested for manipulating a missing-person case.
According to the Jeju Provincial Police Agency on the 26th, traces such as unidentified fingerprints and palm prints were found in multiple places, including the ceiling and the upper edge above a toilet stall, in the women’s restroom at Jeju Western Police Station that A, a police sergeant, entered on the 22nd of last month.
Unlike items such as toilet paper holders, which are touched by many people, those spots are known to be places where fingerprints would not normally remain unless a user deliberately moved to touch them. However, the prints were reportedly incomplete because of dust.
A was booked on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes after entering the women’s restroom at Jeju Western Police Station on July 22 and being caught by a female officer at the station.
A denied the allegations, saying, "I went in because I urgently needed to use the restroom" and "There was no toilet paper in the men’s restroom."
A was later arrested after being suspended over the sexual offense allegations, when it emerged that he had falsely closed a missing-person case involving a woman identified as Jang Mi-ran, 37, who was later found dead, as well as a man in his 60s.
