[Financial News] Seo Gyo-rim, who has completely dominated the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, is aiming for a historic third straight win and her fifth victory of the season.
The 15th KG Ladies Open, the 21st event of the 2026 KLPGA Tour, will tee off in style on the 27th and run for four days at Sunning Point Country Club in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, with total prize money of 1 billion won and 180 million won for the winner. A field of 120 elite players will compete, but the biggest storyline is whether Seo can complete another milestone.
Seo's recent momentum has been unstoppable. In the previous major, the BC Card·Hankyung KLPGA Championship, she pulled off a dramatic playoff victory to become the first player on tour to reach four wins this season. She now leads every major category on tour, including most wins, the Welcome Savings Bank Player of the Year points race with 490 points, cumulative prize money of 1.28676 billion won, and scoring average at 70.2779 strokes, firmly establishing a one-woman race.
If Seo wins again this week, she will become only the fourth player in KLPGA Tour history to claim three consecutive victories, following Pak Se-ri, Mi-Hyun Kim and Hee-kyung Seo.
Seo said, "Winning my first major made me feel like I grew to the next level," and added, "I have gained the confidence to trust my game and stay focused. I will try to carry this winning momentum into this tournament as well."

The absence of Kim Min-sol, her powerful rival and same-age competitor, also improves Seo's chances of making history. Kim, who battled Seo in the final group over the past two weeks in a tense head-to-head showdown, decided to skip this event because of lingering back pain.
Meanwhile, defending champion Shin Da-in will also draw attention as she attempts to defend her title. Shin captured her first career win here last year with a miraculous tee shot in a playoff that rolled 407.9 meters along a cart path. She is now chasing the first-ever back-to-back victory in the tournament's history. Shin said, "There is pressure, but I want to become the first player to win it twice in a row."
Other strong contenders, including Lee Da-yeon, Bang Shinsil, Jang Eun-soo and Ko Ji-woo, have also entered the race for a second win of the season. Amateur Bae Yun-seol and national team member Yunseo Yang will also bring spirited shot-making against the veterans. During the tournament, the Love Birdie Campaign will also be held, donating 50,000 won for each birdie and 100,000 won for each eagle or hole-in-one.
