[Financial News] Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association has launched an emergency supply effort to provide cooling vests for firefighters continuing field operations amid the late-summer heatwave.
According to Hope Bridge on the 26th, it delivered cooling vests worth a total of 96.5 million won to fire stations responding to the nationwide heatwave. The support was arranged to reduce the risk of heat-related illness among firefighters exposed to intense outdoor heat for long hours and to help them carry out their duties, as the sweltering weather is expected to continue into the latter part of the month.
The donated cooling vests are equipped with air-circulation fans and cooling packs attached to the back of the neck. Designed to help release body heat and ease rises in body temperature, the gear is used to reduce the physical strain on firefighters working in high-temperature environments such as fire suppression and rescue operations.
Hope Bridge identified field needs and delivered the supplies to fire stations responding to the nationwide heatwave after consulting with the National Fire Agency (NFA) in response to its official request.
