[Financial News] In an alley in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, the mecca of hipsters, a mysterious red-brick building appeared. There was no signboard, and even the entrance was hidden, so it took quite a while to find the store. The moment I stepped through the hidden door, I felt as if I had walked straight into the broiler, the key cooking equipment that gives Burger King its signature flame-grilled flavor. I was almost convinced that I had become a hamburger patty. The intense sense of immersion felt even more vivid thanks to the interior, filled with red brick and charcoal-inspired design elements.
This space is Flameground, Burger King's new flagship store in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. On the 26th, Burger King held an opening briefing, unveiling the world's first Burger King flagship store and presenting its blueprint for reaching 100 billion won in sales and opening 600 stores this year.
Flameground combines the idea of a playground with Burger King's identity as a flame-grilled brand. It has been designed as a strategic multi-cultural space that extends its 70-year flame-grilling heritage across the store environment, menu, and overall customer experience.

Exclusive menu items available only at Flameground were also unveiled. These premium offerings, which cannot be prepared at regular stores, were developed around three concepts: 'Korean flavor,' 'global,' and 'classic.' The lineup includes the 'K-Cube Galbi Burger,' the 'Memphis BBQ Burger,' and the 'Philly cheesesteak,' inspired by a classic sandwich and loaded with thinly sliced ribeye and plenty of cheese.
■Evolving from a dining space into an experiential spaceVisual enjoyment beyond simple dining fills every corner of the space. From the transition area to the main hall, The Gastro room, and the annex, works created in collaboration with five emerging Korean artists are on display. A kinetic display using robotics technology, media art that expresses the movement of the broiler through sound and light, and installation art that embodies flames and heat all convey the brand's identity in a multidimensional way.
With this store as a starting point, Burger King aims to make a full-fledged leap into a dining brand. BKR CEO Lee Dong-hyung said, "It captures Burger King's know-how in winning over the Korean market through flame-grilling for 43 years," adding, "This is a space that shows Burger King's unique identity as it seeks to expand beyond QSR into dining."
Flameground is scheduled to hold its grand opening for consumers on the 10th of next month.
