On the 26th, KFB said it would launch its social contribution project, "BANKiT Senior Digital Finance Education," designed to reduce the digital finance divide among older adults. To mark the start of the program, KFB held an instructor launch ceremony that day at Hotel Sunshine in Daejeon Metropolitan City, with 84 lead and assistant instructors in attendance.
The launch ceremony also included a workshop to strengthen the instructors' teaching capabilities. "BANKiT Senior Digital Finance Education" is a social contribution initiative for seniors that KFB has run free of charge since 2023 to address digital exclusion in financial services. In the fourth year of the project, KFB has increased the share of educational institutions outside the Seoul metropolitan area to 81% in order to expand access more evenly across the country. The program will offer on-site classes at 87 institutions nationwide for 8,750 people aged 65 and older, focusing on practical topics such as mobile banking and open banking exercises, how to use kiosks and ATMs, and how to prevent and respond to financial fraud.
KFB Chairman Cho Yong-byoung said, "We will continue to lead the practice of inclusive finance so that everyone can enjoy the convenience of digital finance, without any generation or region being left behind, and we will keep expanding senior-tailored education."
