Rebellions Enters the U.K. Sovereign AI Market, Supplies 100 NPU Racks

[Financial News] Rebellions has teamed up with U.K. artificial intelligence startup Callosum to supply more than 100 Neural Processing Unit (NPU) racks to the Government of the United Kingdom.
The move is expected to accelerate Rebellions' expansion into Europe's Sovereign AI market, as it secures a foundation to meet NPU demand across different AI computing systems.
On the 26th, Rebellions said it would work with Callosum to supply NPUs for AI projects supported by the U.K. government. 
Callosum is a next-generation AI infrastructure startup founded by Danyal Akarca, a University of Cambridge alumnus, and Yasha Ahtarberg, its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The company develops a software layer that jointly optimizes AI models and chips, automatically assigning each task to the most suitable hardware.
This allows cutting-edge AI models to achieve the performance they need without complex engineering work. It also enables lower infrastructure costs and greater power efficiency without becoming dependent on a single chip supplier.
Callosum was also selected as the first equity investment company under the U.K. government's Sovereign AI fund. More recently, it raised a seed round worth a total of $100 million.
Rebellions has joined Callosum's vision of 'global heterogeneous computing integration' with partners around the world as one of its first global computing partners. In particular, Rebellions will serve as the partnership's 'Asia representative partner,' marking its first step toward supplying rack-scale products to the U.K. and European Sovereign AI infrastructure, which is expanding around heterogeneous computing.
The two companies plan to broaden their cooperation beyond the U.K. and Europe to the global Sovereign AI market based on a joint design. Together with Callosum, Rebellions is pushing to supply more than 100 NPU-based computing racks to a U.K. government-backed AI research cluster. The effort will help establish its position as dedicated inference hardware within heterogeneous computing architectures and marks the first step toward continued supply in later phases.
The two companies are jointly designing a reference architecture to support the effort. Through integration with the Callosum platform, they aim to provide customers with an immediate NPU deployment environment that requires no separate optimization.
