Hongcheon County launches technology dissemination and expansion support team to connect agricultural fields

[Financial News Hongcheon = Reporter Kim Ki-seop] Hongcheon County is launching a technology dissemination and expansion support team to connect the voices of the agricultural field with policy.
According to Hongcheon County on the 26th, the county's Agricultural Technology Center will fully operate the Hongcheon County Technology Dissemination and Expansion Support Team to strengthen the competitiveness of local agriculture and address rural issues on site. In June, the center enacted rules for organizing and operating the support team to systematically reflect opinions from the agricultural field in policies and projects. It is the fifth such rule among basic local governments nationwide.
The support team will identify technology needs that are actually required in the field and work together to solve local agricultural challenges such as climate change and labor shortages. It will serve as a bridge between agricultural fields and administration by offering technical guidance and advice to farmers facing difficulties, proposing projects needed on site, and taking part in implementation planning. It will also strengthen cooperation between farmers and related institutions so that agricultural science and technology can spread more effectively, while leading field-centered technology dissemination and joint responses.
The center presented appointment letters to the 11 outside members on the day, beginning their two-year term. As its first activity, the support team will take part in a field evaluation of rice variety comparisons being carried out in Hwachon-myeon and Nam-myeon, examining varieties and cultivation characteristics suited to local conditions and sharing feedback from the field.
The center plans to use the support team to quickly identify farmers' real needs and changes in the field, reflect them in technology dissemination and agricultural policy, and strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of local agriculture.
Yoon Sun-hwa, head of the Hongcheon County Agricultural Technology Center, said, "We will closely examine the difficulties farmers face and changes in the field, and connect them to the necessary technologies and policies," adding, "We will operate the support team in a substantive way so that it becomes a reliable partner for farmers."
