The SAN Art Research Association’s Busan–Ulsan–Gyeongnam International Exchange Exhibition to Be Held at Hanseong Art Village in Yangsan

[Financial News] The 7th Busan–Ulsan–Gyeongnam International Exchange Exhibition of the SAN Art Research Association (SARA), chaired by artist Park Yong-woo, will be held from the 6th to the 13th of next month at Hanseong Art Hall, 47 Yein-gil, Habuk-myeon, Yangsan-si, Gyeongsangnam-do.
According to the art world on the 26th, the exhibition, themed "Beyond Boundaries, Shaping the Future of the Southeast Through Art," will feature 40 artists representing Busan (25), Ulsan Metropolitan City (5), and South Gyeongsang Province (10). They will present large-scale works in the "100-ho" format. The massive 100-ho canvases demonstrate each artist’s creative capability and express a strong determination to move beyond regional limits.
The exhibition was organized to meet this demand of the times by bringing together the cultural potential of the Busan–Ulsan–Gyeongnam region and realizing artistic convergence.
This exhibition also expands its scope by inviting small works from 16 artists from six countries, including Germany, Romania, the Republic of Finland, India, Japan, and China, in addition to regional participation.
Park Yong-woo, chairman of the SAN Art Research Association, said, "The diverse visual languages spread across the canvas each carry their own colors, yet they come together in harmony within the larger flow of the Busan–Ulsan–Gyeongnam region." He added, "This grand aesthetic solidarity symbolizes the united strength of local artists and will serve as a foundation for redrawing the map of art in the Southeast."
The exhibition venue, Hanseong Art Village in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, is a place imbued with the spirit of the Yeongnam Alps and also serves as the geographic center of the Busan–Ulsan–Gyeongnam region.
The panoramic exhibition of 56 artists at this gallery, a healing space where nature and art coexist, is expected to offer pride in regional art and inspire new imagination.
Park said, "Administrative boundaries are nothing more than lines drawn on a map, but the emotion created by art leaves an indelible path in people’s hearts." He added, "Through this exhibition, I hope the Busan–Ulsan–Gyeongnam region can dream together of a future of mutual growth, united through art."
He also said, "At the point where the weight of local artists’ large-scale works intersects with the delicate sensibilities of overseas artists, we experience both the universality and the uniqueness of art." He noted, "This international exchange will be an important indicator that Busan–Ulsan–Gyeongnam art is by no means an isolated island, but a living organism that constantly communicates with the world and evolves."
