KMOU Builds Global Development Framework for Marine Healing Industry Using Ocean Resources

[Financial News] As the marine healing industry, which promotes public health by using ocean resources such as seawater, marine climate, sea sand, and seaweed, emerges as a new growth engine, KMOU is drawing attention for building a cooperative framework with overseas organizations, including groups in France, to advance the global marine healing industry.
KMOU and KIOST said on the 26th that they signed a four-party memorandum of understanding on the 20th with the French Thalasso Association (FTA) and the Korea Healing Association (KTA) to develop the marine healing industry.
Under the agreement, the four organizations will conduct joint research to identify marine healing resources and analyze their effectiveness. They also agreed to cooperate in multiple areas, including joint operation of various programs and exchanges of specialized personnel, to support the industry's overall development.
Backed by the agreement, KMOU plans to continue research and technology development using marine healing resources, strengthen interdisciplinary education, and lead the future marine healing industry.
Kim Jeong-hoon, head of KMOU's Marine Healing Research Center, said, "Starting with this agreement, we will step up joint research in the marine healing field, participate in national R&D projects, and begin full-scale data sharing to maximize synergy among industry, academia, and research institutions." He added, "We will identify core technologies needed in the marine healing field and greatly enhance our research expertise."
KMOU President Ryu Dong-geun said, "This agreement will be an important turning point that leads the future of the global marine healing industry." He added, "Based on our university's academic expertise in marine studies and its capabilities in convergent research, we will work closely with participating institutions to lead the development of the new marine healing industry and do our best to cultivate specialized talent."
