Busan Techno Park said on the 26th that it operated a Korean Pavilion at the Shoes & Leather - Vietnam exhibition, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from the 8th to the 10th of last month, and secured export consultation results worth more than $3.1173 million across 89 cases.
The event is a specialized exhibition covering the entire shoe industry, from manufacturing machinery to raw materials, components and finished products. Because production bases for global shoe brands are concentrated in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, it is being used as a business platform for companies seeking overseas partners in shoe machinery, materials and components.
The operation of the Korean Pavilion was part of the 2026 overseas marketing support project for the shoe industry, which was launched to help Busan shoe companies expand into overseas markets and boost exports. To this end, Busan Techno Park recruited participating companies from local firms involved in finished shoes, raw materials, components and machinery, selected eight companies, and arranged export consultations with local buyers at the pavilion.
Among them, USMC, a company specializing in shoe manufacturing machinery, signed an on-site purchase contract worth $60,000, or about 83 million won, with local shoe maker Changshin Vina for a pallet cutting machine. Changshin Vina is a major original equipment manufacturing company that produces Nike sneakers in Vietnam, Indonesia and other countries.
Other companies also held numerous follow-up discussions on product testing and joint projects, raising expectations for Busan shoe companies to expand into the Southeast Asian market.
A company official who took part in the project said, "Through our participation in the Korean Pavilion at this exhibition, we were able to expand our network in Southeast Asia, including local distributors in Vietnam," adding, "We were also able to secure a variety of opportunities in terms of orders and purchase contracts."
A Busan Techno Park official in charge of the project said, "After the exhibition ended, many companies realized the importance of overseas trade shows. Some also gained direction for participating in overseas exhibitions next year," and added, "There were tangible results such as contracts, but I believe there were also many intangible gains in that companies expanded their contact points with overseas buyers."
