[Financial News, Sinan = Reporter Hwang Tae-jong] Sinan County will provide 100,000 won in livelihood stability support to all residents ahead of Chuseok.
The move is intended to support residents struggling with high prices and the economic slowdown, while also stimulating local consumption and revitalizing small businesses and neighborhood commercial districts.
The support payment is scheduled to be distributed before Chuseok. Eligible recipients are residents who were registered in Sinan County as of July 1, 2026, the reference date for payment.
Residents who wish to receive the payment can apply in person at the eup or myeon office in their jurisdiction.
The payment will be issued as a prepaid card that can be used only at businesses in the Sinan area to encourage local spending.
Sinan County plans to first provide 100,000 won per person this year and, after securing a budget next year, offer an additional 200,000 won.
A county official said, "The livelihood stability support payment is meant to ease the burden on residents and breathe new life into the sluggish local economy." The official added, "As this is a promise we made to residents, we will process it quickly and do our best to ensure the support payment is delivered to all residents without disruption before Chuseok."
