Korea Real Estate Board Holds Digital Practice Training for Public Architecture Design Competitions

[Financial News] The Korea Real Estate Board is launching training for officials at contracting agencies responsible for public architecture design competitions. The program is designed to strengthen expertise in procurement work by covering everything from understanding the system to operating online competitions and experiencing a digital review environment.
According to the board on the 26th, the training will be held on the 27th at its Seoul Gangnam branch for officials from public architecture contracting agencies nationwide. It will be conducted under the title "On-site Training to Improve Practical Skills for Public Architecture Design Competitions."
The program will cover the design competition system and related laws and operating procedures, key points and precautions at each stage of the competition process, how to use the architecture design competition information service Architecture HUB, and important considerations when drafting and reviewing standard competition guidelines. After the training, participants will tour the digital review room to examine the digital-based evaluation environment and operating procedures.
Because design competitions are the initial step that determines the direction of public architecture design, the system understanding and operational capabilities of contracting agency officials are crucial. For that reason, this course goes beyond a simple explanation of the system and also includes online competition operations and hands-on experience with the digital review environment. It also focuses on reducing the costs and workload involved in printing, producing, and transporting competition proposals.
Since being designated as a public architecture support center in March 2025, the Korea Real Estate Board has continued to support the use of Architecture HUB and provide training for stakeholders. From January to July this year, it held 10 training sessions for about 775 officials from local governments, public institutions, Offices of Education, and National Universities. It plans to continue offering one to two sessions per month going forward.
Kim Nam-seong, head of the Housing Supply Support Division at the Korea Real Estate Board, said, "To improve the quality of public architecture, the expertise and practical skills of the officials who directly commission and operate design competitions are important." He added, "We will continue to expand the training and support needed by contracting agencies to help create high-quality public architecture."
