[Financial News] Pukyong National University (President Bae Sang-hoon) announced on the 26th that it completed the construction of Fisheries Science Building No. 2 and held a completion ceremony on the 25th to strengthen the university's competitiveness in advanced education and research in fisheries science, one of its traditional foundational academic fields.
Fisheries Science Building No. 2 is expected to bring together fisheries-related departments that had been scattered across the campus, including the existing National Fisheries Science Museum, reducing students' travel time for classes, experiments and practice, and improving learning efficiency.
The building was constructed with a total project cost of 38 billion won. Construction began in 2024, and the facility has one basement level and 14 floors above ground, with a total floor area of 17,410 square meters.
Fisheries Science Building No. 2 was built as a comprehensive facility for fisheries science, combining educational spaces for lectures, experiments and practice with laboratories, administrative offices, and rest and study areas for students, creating an integrated environment for education, research and student welfare.
The building includes laboratories, lecture rooms, laboratories and administrative offices for the College of Fisheries Science, as well as a community lounge on the second floor and student rest and study spaces in front of the elevators on floors 3 through 13, creating a student-friendly educational environment.
A sky lounge on the 14th floor, the top level, can host academic conferences, seminars and college events.
The facility also includes environmentally friendly and energy-efficient features, such as a 330-kW solar power generation system.
