Aekyung Chemical Looks After Neighbors Near Its Sites, Shares Nourishing Meals in Jeonju

[Financial News] Aekyung Chemical is expanding tailored social contribution activities centered on the communities around its business sites, from support for vulnerable groups to environmental conservation.
Aekyung Chemical said on the 26th that its employees made and delivered "hearty meal kits" at the Jeonju plant for neighbors in Bongdong-eup, Wanju County. The kits included nourishing dishes and side items to help local residents stay healthy during the hot summer.
The activity was especially meaningful because Aekyung Chemical employees took part directly in preparing the kits.
Since 2022, Aekyung Chemical has continued community-based social contribution activities in areas where its major sites are located, including Mapo District in Seoul, Ulsan Metropolitan City, Cheongyang and Jeonju, while identifying local issues and supporting neighbors in need.
In the first half of this year, the company also carried out a range of activities tailored to each site. At its Seoul headquarters, it prepared and delivered a "back-to-school supply kit" to a welfare foundation to help lower-grade elementary school students adapt to school life. It also put together a "summer care kit" to help seniors participating in job programs stay healthy during the summer.
The company is also broadening its social contribution efforts into environmental protection. At the Ulsan plant, it promoted a project to protect the habitat of Glaux maritima var. obtusifolia, an endangered wild species classified as Grade II, to preserve local biodiversity. Along with donation activities for vulnerable groups in the community, it is also strengthening efforts to conserve ecosystems near its sites.
An Aekyung Chemical official said, "Based on the voluntary participation of our employees, we are steadily expanding social contribution activities that provide practical help to local communities," adding, "We will continue a variety of sharing activities that allow us to grow and thrive together with the communities near our sites."
